Local Government EDA Funding Opportunity

May 8, 2020

Attention local units of government: New funding opportunity!

As a result of the CARES Act, the US EDA has received an additional $1.5 billion in funding for its Economic Adjustment Assistance program.  Our Chicago region has been allotted $225 million, for which eligible applicants in the CUPPAD region may apply for project funding. Refer to the FAQ document on the EDA’s website for more information on eligible projects. Applicants must explain how the proposed project would “prevent, prepare for, and respond to Coronavirus” or respond to “economic injury as a result of Coronavirus” to be eligible for funding.

Note: Prospective projects must also relate to priorities and objectives in the Central Region Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Before developing an application, applicants should reach out to CUPPAD to better understand these requirements.
